Dear Friends, Family, and Colleagues,

I am excited to share news about an upcoming adventure that will take me away from my regular teaching commitments at St. Louis University. After careful consideration, I have decided to embark on a year-long sabbatical in Mexico to delve deeper into research for my upcoming projects. While I will miss my students, colleagues, and the beauty of SLU’s campus, I am eager to return to my home in Merida with my family. 

As many of you know, I have been in love with Mexico for decades and have made it the subject of most of my professional research. The diverse landscapes, rich history, and stories of Mexico have always fascinated me, and I look forward to putting pen to paper while reveling in the source.

During this sabbatical, I’ll be focusing on various projects that have been brewing in my mind. While I am incredibly enthusiastic about this journey, I may not be as connected as usual during this time. The beauty of this experience lies in fully immersing myself in the environment and research at hand. However, I would love for you to stay in touch and follow along with my adventures.
